Reviews 97 points Wine Advocate "One of the all-time greats from this estate is the still inky colored 1999 Cote Rotie. From a hot year that had many vignerons struggling with vinification issues, Jean-Paul compared 1999 to 2009 more than once. Sensationally rich, concentrated and full-bodied, it reveals a classic bouquet of pepper, smoked herbs, black currants and licorice. One sexy Cote Rotie that's just hard to resist, it's drinking perfectly today but will evolve nicely for another decade or more. (JD)" 97 points John Gilman "The 1999 Jamet Cote-Rotie is starting to drink brilliantly, even out of magnum, and this is a quintessential bottle of Cote-Rotie from a great producer in a top flight vintage. The bouquet is deep, pure and complex, soaring from the glass in a blaze of red and black raspberries, smoked meats, hazelnuts, dark soil tones, woodsmoke, pepper, black tea and just a touch of oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and beautifully plush at the core, with great focus and balance, lovely soil signature and grip, suave, modest tannins and a very, very long, pure and simply gorgeous finish. This is such a great wine! (JG)"

About Domaine Jamet

Domaine Jamet, located in the heart of Côte Rôtie, is a producer famed for crafting exceptional wines that capture the true essence of the terroir. Led by Jean-Paul Jamet, along with his wife Corinne and son Loïc, the domaine has been dedicated to sustainable farming since 1976.

With steep, terraced schist and granite slopes above the village of Ampuis, Domaine Jamet produces a staggering 19 single-vineyard Syrahs from some of the finest parcels in the appellation. Their winemaking philosophy revolves around minimal manipulation, allowing the wines to express themselves fully. Starting with whole-cluster fermentation, each parcel is vinified separately. Unlike others, the Jamets prefer the use of neutral vessels such as larger pieces and demi-muids, allowing for a more judicious integration of oak flavors. After aging for up to two years in barrels, the wines are bottled unfined and unfiltered, resulting in remarkably silky, refined, and aromatic wines.

The vineyards of Domaine Jamet are situated on the steep hillsides and terraces known as chayets, characterized by schist and granite subsoils. Jean-Paul and his family have a deep respect for the land, striving to preserve and respect its exceptional nature. Their extensive experience and intimate knowledge of the terroirs enable them to craft highly nuanced wines with captivating perfumes, velvety textures, and remarkable balance.

Jean-Paul Jamet's unwavering dedication to preserving the authenticity of Côte Rôtie has established him as one of the appellation's greatest masters. The wines of Domaine Jamet, with their seductive textures and enchanting aromas, provide an exceptional and unforgettable wine-drinking experience, truly capturing the essence of this renowned region.
