Reviews 95 points Wine Advocate "Opening in the glass with aromas of ripe red fruits, rose petals, peonies, orange rind and exotic spices, Roumier's 2018 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru is full-bodied, multidimensional and concentrated, with a rich and layered mid-palate, a muscular chassis of powdery tannin and a bright, mineral finish. (WK)" 92 points Vinous "...offering layers of black cherry and blueberry fruit; this could only come from this particular vineyard. Wonderful precision and quite floral. The palate is medium-bodied with firm grip, succulent tannins and a very saline finish. (NM)"

About Domaine G. Roumier / Christophe Roumier
Christophe Roumier’s modest tendencies might fight to keep him under the radar, but the exquisite lineup of his premier and grand crus from his family domaine, Domaine George Roumier, make him a darling of sommeliers and collectors alike. The Domaine's top fruit comes from the finest terriors in Chambolle Musigny - Le Musigny, Les Amoureuses, and Bonnes Mares. Additionally, there are three parcels farmed en métayage - Echezeaux, Ruchottes, and Charmes Chambertin. Despite severe pruning in the vineyards to keep his yields low, his finished wines exhibit wonderful succulence and concentration, all with focus and restraint.
After the harvest, Christophe sorts the grapes back at the winery. Depending on the conditions of the vintage, he de-stems the majority of his grapes, macerates them at low temperatures in oak cuves, and punches down the must twice per day. The must ferments on native yeasts in both stainless steel and concrete, and the wines age according to their crus, using as little at 15% new oak for the village wines with a maximum of 50% for the Bonnes Mares grand cru. Charming, seductive, and impressively age-worthy!
