Reviews 95 points Vinous "Saturated violet. A highly perfumed and complex bouquet features intense red and blue fruit, incense, potpourri and musky earth qualities and a smoky mineral note that builds with air. Displays a compelling blend of depth and vivacity to the sweet black raspberry, mulberry and cherry liqueur flavors, which show superb definition and back-end lift. The floral and spice notes drive a strikingly long and gently chewy finish that echoes the cherry note and is framed by slowly building tannins. (JR)"

About Marcel Lapierre

Marcel Lapierre, a visionary winemaker from Beaujolais, was a key player in the natural wine movement of the 1980s. Along with fellow vignerons Guy Breton, Jean-Paul Thevenet, and Jean Foillard, Marcel, known as part of the "Gang of Four," sought to revive traditional winemaking practices, including the use of minimal pesticides, no chaptalization, and limited sulfur.

His approach to winemaking was greatly influenced by natural wine pioneer Jules Chauvet. Marcel's son Mathieu and daughter Camille now continue his legacy, having introduced biodynamic farming to the estate. The Lapierre wines are characterized by their juicy, persistent, and fresh flavors, resulting from late harvests that allow the grapes to fully ripen.

Don't miss out on the highly sought-after Cuvee Camille and Cuvee Marcel Lapierre, considered among the best Morgon has to offer.
