Monthelie-Douhairet-Porcheret
Monthelie-Douhairet-Porcheret has a rich history of over 300 years in the heart of Cote de Beaune. The Domaine became a mouthful in 1989 when the Douhairet family enlisted the distinguished winemaker Andre Porcheret to take over the Domaine, adding his last name.
You might recognize Andre Porcheret’s name, as he was also the winemaker for the legendary Domaine Leroy under the illustrious Lalou Bize-Leroy. It was under her watchful eye that Andre learned the techniques of biodynamic farming long before its time. To this day, the eight hectares of vineyards in Monthelie, Pommard, Volnay, and Meursault are farmed without the use of herbicides or pesticides.
Today, the ancient Estate is run by Andre’s granddaughter, Cataldina, and her husband, Vincent. Cataldina learned from Andre firsthand when she joined him in 2004, and carries on his meticulous methods while adding a touch of modernism. This refined style lets the fruit shine, yet still honors the land they came from - the perfect balance of tradition and innovation.
