One of the "best producers of Sancerre" (Decanter) - the ethos at Domaine Vincent Pinard is great wine is made in the vineyard, which is why they've been organically farming their limestone soils for nearly 15 years.
With his wife Colette, Vincent expanded the Domaine in the 1980s, acquiring vineyards and implementing a new winemaking style that sets the benchmark for elite Sancerre. Today, Vincent's sons, Clement and Florent, continue the tradition of excellence for Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir.
Domaine Vincent Pinard practices organic and biodynamic farming on limestone and clay soils. They believe in minimal intervention in the winery, allowing the high-quality grapes to speak for themselves. The wines are known for their purity, liveliness, and expressive character.
Situated in Bue, known for its Kimmeridgean terres blanches soils, the winery combines innovation with natural winemaking practices. The Pinard brothers focus on site-specific cuvées that reflect the uniqueness of each plot. They use oak, uncommon for Sauvignon Blanc, resulting in wines with depth and complexity.
Their vineyard holdings include top sites like Clos du Chêne Marchand and La Pelerine. The whites offer elegance and nuance, defying expectations with their restrained and balanced style. The Pinot Noir, grown on clay-limestone soil, yields powerful yet harmonious red wines with aging potential.
Domaine Vincent Pinard upholds a commitment to natural winemaking, hand labor, and sustainable practices. Their Sauvignon Blanc is gently pressed, and fermented in stainless steel and demi-muids with indigenous yeasts, while Pinot Noir undergoes destemming and fermentation with native yeasts.
With their precision, purity, and refinement, Domaine Vincent Pinard has gained a well-deserved reputation as one of the elite producers of Sauvignon Blanc in the world.
