Big, rich, deep, as well as concentrated, it is medium-bodied and displays flavors of pears dusted with salt, minerals, and spices. (PR)" John Gilman "The holdings in Foret are the youngest vines that the Raveneaus possess, and though the wine is quite stylish and pretty, the fairly hefty yields in Chablis in 2004 are most keenly felt in the Foret. The nose is complex and fresh, wafting from the glass in a blend of lemony fruit, a bit of beeswax, sound minerality, spring flowers and a whisper of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is medium-full, crystal clear and precise, with solid depth at the core, bright acids, and good length and grip on the soil-driven finish. The younger vines here take away just a hint of concentration, but this is a middleweight that will is destined to provide plenty of pleasure. (JG)"
