Supple tannins and a thickness and unctuosity characterize this Cuvee Syrah, which was first made in 1978 from cuttings taken from the northern Rhone's Domaine Chave in Mauves. (RP)" 91-93 points Vinous "Inky ruby. Pungent dark berries and cherry on the nose, with complicating notes of olive, black cardamom and licorice. Chewy, spicy and bright, showing palate-staining flavors of sappy dark fruits. Finishes with solid grip, a jolt of licorice and outstanding persistence. (JR)"
