2014 Coche-Dury Meursault 1er Cru Caillerets #163719810
Reviews 95 points Wine Advocate "initially tightly-wound and seemed unapologetically broody...not for long. It suddenly springs up a scent of liquorice and musters subtle tropical notes drenched in minerals, so that eventually it blossoms and turns into an extravagant bouquet, more so than the Meursault Rougeot. It settles down with orange blossom and apricot infused with cold wet grey slate. The palate is well balanced with superb acidity. It is overtly spicy and vigorous, infused with ginger and lemon rind, later a touch of grilled almond on the very persistent finish. This is an outstanding Meursault Caillerets for long-term drinking pleasure. (NM)"

About Coche-Dury
Domaine Coche-Dury is unequivocally one of the finest estates in Meursault, and one of the most celebrated names in Burgundy. Known for their world-class and age-worthy whites, as well as their highly underrated and infinitely surprising reds, the Domaine is synonymous with outstanding quality. While the Coche family has been making wine in and around Meursault since the 1920s, Jean-François may be the family’s most celebrated member, gracing the label with his wife’s last name, Dury, and raising the Domaine to cult status.
Since 2010, Raphaël Coche and his wife, Charline, have been at the helm of the estate. Following in the family tradition, they farm sustainably, with many of their nine hectares from non-clonal old-vine vineyards throughout Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Auxey-Duresses, Monthélie and Volnay. In the cellar, Raphaël and Charline embrace Coche-Dury’s signature reductive style - where long, traditional vinifications, extended lees contact, and new-oak aging produce vibrant, sumptuous wines.
With only about 4,000 cases produced every year, these are some of the most rare and highly sought after wines in the world.
