Reviews 89-92 points Burghound "A ripe and attractively fresh nose is comprised by notes of white flowers, apple, pear and a hint of petrol. There is equally good ripeness to the concentrated and mouth coating medium weight flavors that possess a lovely sense of energy, all wrapped in citrus-inflected finale. (AM)"

Pierre-Yves Colin in his vineyards

About Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey

As the son of St. Aubin’s most famous producer, Marc Colin, Pierre-Yves Colin learned about winemaking and viticulture from one of the best. In 2003, Marc divided his holdings among his four children, leaving Pierre-Yves with nearly six hectares of vineyards, mostly in St. Aubin and Chassagne-Montrachet, including many premier cru parcels and five grand crus. That same year, Pierre-Yves and his wife, Caroline Morey, started Maison Pierre Yves Colin-Morey with his inherited holdings, as well as some purchased fruit cultivated through their deep relationships as a négociant.

Based out of their new winery in Chassagne, Pierre-Yves and Caroline now share elite status alongside Burgundian legends like Leflaive, Roulot and Coche-Dury. With an encyclopedic knowledge of terroirs, Pierre-Yves employs sustainable viticultural practices and embraces long, traditional vinifications, and a signature reductive élevage. In the cellar, Pierre-Yves uses high-pressure extraction methods, eschews punch-downs, and ages the wines in 350-L demi-muids. Their St. Aubins age for about 12 months, while the Chassagnes and other cuvees age for up to 18 months before unfined, unfiltered bottlings.
