In 2017, the Lafarges used twenty-five percent whole clusters for this bottling, which offers up a superb nose of red and black cherries, sweet cranberries, stony soil tones, gamebird, woodsmoke and a nice touch of fresh thyme in the upper register. On the palate the wine is pure, full, complex and nicely sappy at the core, with fine focus and complexity, impressive soil signature and just a touch of fine-grained tannins perking up the long and beautifully balanced finish.
