2018 Domaine des Comtes Lafon Monthelie 1er Cru Les Duresses #154844177
John Gilman
Reviews Burghound "A ripe, fresh and attractively spicy nose reflects a variety of both red and dark pinot fruit nuances. The nicely voluminous and textured middle weight flavors possess a lovely sense of verve before terminating in a mildly rustic, indeed even robust, finish. (AM)"

About Domaine des Comtes Lafon
When Dominique took over in 1984, the vineyard holdings were spread across Meursault, Volnay, Monthélie, and Puligny-Montrachet, with most under contract. But once those agreements expired, this tour de force got to work. He took complete control back of the vineyards, implemented organic and biodynamic practices, and built a respected reputation for honoring the terroir of each vineyard. Best known for his whites, these wines range from round and seductive to robust and serious, to a signature finesse in his Montrachet Grand Cru.
Ever since Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate declared, “Dominique Lafon is on fire, in a zone, on top of his game. He’s never made better wines, and he improves with each passing vintage,” collectors worldwide have been jumping at the opportunity to acquire these prized bottlings.
