Reviews 95 points Wine Advocate "From a south-facing slope in Saint Aubin de Luigne, where the vines root in shallow sandstone schist soils with Carboniferous bedrock, the golden-colored 2018 Coteaux du Layon Les Bruandieres is a Chenin liquoreux that opens with a rich and concentrated, clear and elegant as well as highly attractive bouquet of perfectly ripe and stewed stone fruit aromas intertwined with some flinty notes and well-integrated oaky and toasty tones. On the palate, this is a full-bodied, rich, utterly sweet but fine and elegant, very intense sweet Chenin from the Layon. The wine would be too sweet and flabby without this spectacular terroir that lifts even a Beerenauslese style like this. The saltiness is intertwined with the tannin structure, which gives the 2018 excellent aging potential. (SR)"
