It is beautifully defined on the nose, the explosion of black fruit laced with autumn leaves and black pepper, and the whole bunch more conspicuous than the new oak. The wood comes through more on the palate, imparting a sense of sweetness and gloss. A mixture of red and black fruit laced with blood orange, it fans out wonderfully toward the finish... The super-sleek and equally mineral-driven larger-scaled flavors possess a wonderfully seductive mid-palate texture though contrasts significantly with the compact and very tightly wound finish that just goes on and on.
