About Eymin-Tichoux

Sophie Eymin and Kevin Tichoux, both in their thirties, first met while pursuing their viticulture-enology degrees in Montpellier. Since then, they have worked side by side in regions such as Chile, South Africa, Burgundy, and Rhône-Nord, gaining experience at esteemed estates like René Bouvier in Gevrey-Chambertin, Pierre-Jean Villa, and Stéphane Ogier.

Sophie hails from Seyssuel, where her family owns land on the schistose and granite hillsides north of Vienne on the left bank of the Rhône. Inspired by her grandparents' captivating harvest memories, she dreamt of reestablishing vineyards on these magical hillsides. In 2014, with Kevin's support, they turned this dream into reality, planting their first Syrah vines in 2015. On the Rhône's opposite bank, they planted Roussanne on a granite hillside called Varembon and acquired a small plot of Côte-Rôtie in the heart of the appellation, Le Truchet.

Their four-hectare vineyard is entirely organically farmed, with the soils worked by horse, crawler, winch, or pickaxe. The vines are grown on stakes at a high density of 10,000 vines per hectare. In the cellar, Sophie and Kevin employ gentle vinification with minimal intervention, trusting indigenous yeasts and practicing long, precise aging in oak barrels of various capacities.

One of the most exciting aspects of their operation is their cellar, the only one in the soon-to-be elevated to AOP Seyssuel. Despite the incredible terroir being farmed by many great names of the Northern Rhône, no one else makes wine here, which is quite remarkable given the region's Roman history.

Eymin Tichoux's wines, including Côte-Rôtie, Seyssuel Blanc and Rouge, and Saint-Joseph Blanc, are characterized by their intense juicy-ness, never heavy or overly oaked, and boasting remarkable balance and length on the palate. With their shared passion and diverse experience, Sophie and Kevin have created a rising star in the world of wine, producing exceptional wines that showcase the unique terroir of their vineyards.

Cap Syrah
100% Syrah from a small vineyard in Saint Claire de Rhône, opposite Condrieu. This vibrant, violet-scented wine boasts ripe tannins and glorious Syrah fruit. Partially whole-bunch fermented in stainless steel and aged in old French barrique.

Crozes-Hermitage
From an old vine parcel of Syrah grown on the Haut Chassis. Fermented in stainless steel and aged in old French oak, the wine exhibits bright blackberry, violet fruit, and sweet spice. The palate is dense and refined, full of sophistication.

L’Arene
From 0.5 ha of Seysseul vines, this 100% Syrah is dense, elite-level Northern Rhône Syrah aged for 2 years in barrel. The palate is rich and powerful yet seamless and juicy. A standout wine.

Côte Rôtie 'La Truchet'
Old vines planted next to Clusel Roch, Jasmin, and Jamet. A classic wine with cool blue and red berry fruit, coffee, spice, violet, leather, and blood notes. Enjoy now or age for years.
