The palate is medium-bodied with palpable energy. Taut and fresh, this is a Vosne-Romanee Village that displays wonderful focus and might be my pick of Rouget's wines if price is factored in. Here the nose is certainly ripe though not quite as several in the range and with notably more spice elements adding breadth to the black pinot fruit scents. There is excellent richness to the mouth coating and impressively concentrated medium-bodied flavors that also culminate in a decidedly firm but not really rustic or austere finale. (AM)"
