About Theo Dancer

Theo Dancer, the talented young winemaker and son of the renowned Vincent Dancer, has been making a name for himself in the world of Burgundy. Based in Chassagne-Montrachet, Theo has taken the reins of his father's domaine and also embarked on his own personal project, adding a fresh touch to the traditional world of white Burgundy.

While Vincent Dancer's wines have always been highly sought after and admired for their perfect harmony between classic concentration and the innovative push towards reduction, Theo brings his own unique perspective to the table. His approach combines his father's philosophy and techniques with his own innovative spirit, as evidenced by the labels on his wines that both pay homage to tradition and hint at something new.

Theo's project expands the scope of Burgundy varietals by incorporating non-traditional grapes like Savagnin and Pinot Gris, while still producing classic varietals such as Aligoté and Gamay. His wines retain the transparent, expressive character that the Dancer name is known for, but they are also infused with the youthful energy of a 23-year-old winemaker forging his own path.

In both viticulture and vinification, Theo emphasizes healthy farming practices and minimal intervention. Although not all of his vineyards are certified organic, they are treated with care and a "hands-off" approach. His winemaking process is similarly minimalist, relying on native yeasts, natural malolactic fermentation, and eschewing fining or filtering.

The first release of Theo Dancer's has landed, and the lineup includes an exciting array of wines:

Theo Dancer Bourgogne Aligote - A refreshing wine with 1300 bottles produced, sourced from Nantoux and aged in a combination of barrels and stainless steel.

Theo Dancer Bourgogne Chardonnay - An intriguing Chardonnay from biodynamic Meursault vines, fermented and aged in amphorae, with 1200 bottles produced.

Theo Dancer Alpestre Gringet - A unique Gringet from Domaine Belluraud in Haut-Savoie, aged in amphorae and glass, with 2500 bottles produced.

Theo Dancer Savagnin Jurassique - A distinctive Savagnin from Etoile, aged in large used barrels, with 4000 bottles produced.

Theo Dancer Opa-Oma Pinot Gris - A lovely Pinot Gris from organic Bischwiller vineyards (Alsace), aged in barrels and stainless steel, with 850-900 bottles produced.

Theo Dancer Gamay - A vibrant Gamay from Loncier, near Fleurie, aged in amphorae and used casks, with 2000 bottles produced.

With Theo Dancer at the helm, the future of Burgundy wines looks both rooted in tradition and open to new and exciting possibilities.
